PARTS OF A COMPUTER

Computer hardware
The basic  component needed to assemble a basic modern PC system.
1)   Motherboard
 2)  Processor
 3)  RAM
 4)  Hard disk
 5)  CD-ROM
 6)  Floppy Drive
 7)  Keyboard
 8)  Mouse
 9)  Monitor
 10) Power Supply
 11) Cabinet
 12) card and ports

Motherboard:
In personal computers, a motherboard is the central printed circuit board in many modern computers and holds many of the crucial components of the system, providing connectors for other peripherals. The motherboard is sometimes alternatively known as the mainboard, system board, planar board.
Processor:
A processor is the logic circuitry that responds to and processes the basic instructions that drive a computer. The term processor has generally replaced the term central processing unit (CPU). The processor in a personal computer or embedded in small devices is often called a microprocessor.

RAM(randomaccess memory):
It is a type of computer memory that can be accessed randomly; that is, any byte of memory can be accessed without touching the preceding bytes. RAM is the most common type of memory found in computers and other devices, such as printers.

Harddisk:
A hard disk is part of a unit, often called a "disk drive," "hard drive," or "hard disk drive," that stores and provides relatively quick access to large amounts of data on an electromagnetically charged surface or set of surfaces. Today's computers typically come with a hard disk that contains several billion bytes (gigabytes) of storage.

CD-ROM(readonly memory):
It is a device used to read and write the data on a compact disc . compact disk is a type of optical disk capable of storing large amounts of data -- up to 1GB, although the most common size is 650MB (megabytes).

Floppydrive:
It is a device used to read and write the data on a floppy . Floppy is a disk storage medium composed of a disk of thin and flexible magnetic storage medium, sealed in a rectangular plastic carrier lined with fabric that removes dust particles.
Keyboard:
It is an input device. It is a  set of typewriter-like keys that enables you to enter data into a computer. Computer keyboards are similar to electric-typewriter keyboards but contain additional keys.

Mouse:
It is an input device that controls the movement of the cursor or pointer on a display screen. A mouse is a small object you can roll along a hard, flat surface. Its name is derived from its shape, which looks a bit like a mouse, its connecting wire that one can imagine to be the mouse's tail, and the fact that one must make it scurry along a surface. As you move the mouse, the pointer on the display screen moves in the same direction.
Monitor:
It is an output device that displays the video and graphics information generated by the computer through the video card. Monitors are very similar to televisions but usually display information at a much higher resolution.
Power supply (SMPS):
Each and every part of a computer consumes some electricity and the amount of power required will depend on the devices. We give an input of 230 v to the computer and
the  SMPS will regulate the power required to the device.

 Cabinet:
It the place where all the computer parts are installed. Computer cabinets are fitted with doors and side panels (which may or may not be removable). Cabinets enclose a rack, which is a frame that provides a means for mounting electronic equipment. Cabinets come in a variety of styles, colors, and many contain baffles, fans, and other features.
